HAPPINESS WRITES: "DE-BITTER"
"Why would Stella lie against me. She basically twisted the story to suit her purpose. But then to what end is she doing this...?😤
Or could it be that she understood our conversation that way? Then that's so 'backward!'" (She muttered, Moving the pawn aimlessly on the chess-board of her thoughts).
"But I'm truly wearied 😫of housing this bitter feelings... It hurts badly, it really does!"
(She broke down, crying)😭
Bimbo kept complaining and whimpering simultaneously.
"Babe, it's okay!!! Haba!😟 You've been whining the whole day!! 😏
( Her face expressing both annoyance and compassion for her friend)
"Girl, It's obvious this feeling is wearing you down😞 and taking away your peace... so why not just let go?"💁
(Grace Adviced in consolation)
"It's so hard!! It's so hard Grace!!" 😣 (She cuts in)
"I've tried several times but then it looks like I'm stucked here.
Anytime I see her, I get angry all again and I just want to repay her in her own coin..."
"Coin kó, shillings nî!" (Grace tittered ) 😆
Bimbo gave her a somewhat mixed-glance. 🤨
"I'm sorry babe, I ain't making light of the situation... Just treating it on a lighter note"
(Grace, still smiling)🙂
Now With a more serious look, placing her hand on Bimbo's shoulder, she convincingly whispered to her:
"THAT'S SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T CHOSEN THE OPTION OF LETTING GO..." 🕊
Often times, we believe we really have FORGIVEN, but deep-down we know there are "left-over grudges" still hanging there...
"Exactly! One minute, I feel I have forgiven and the next second. I'm burning with anger... Why is it that way?"
(Bimbo responded with frustration, so evident in her voice)😖
Grace responds, "When you think about the wrong done to you and you do not feel a smidgen of abhorrence or loathe towards that person then you have actually forgiven. Irrespective of how badly someone coats the picture of the past in an attempt to get you bitter, yet you have no grudges... Again, you can truly say that you have let go.
She continued:
"Believe me, girlie, it isn't one of the nicest things to do, it will hurt so bad. Eh!
So crying is allowed..."😭
(She smiled)
Now guys! ...As opposed to the traditional belief that crying depicts a state of weakness, crying eases off the pain. Cry out aloud, roll on the floor, hit on the wall and embrace the pillows. Ensure you cry all you want. But make sure you get up strong.
Do not allow the hurt to keep you on the spot. Shake it off!
And just when you feel your world 🌍crumbling before your face, allow the Holy Spirit to fix you.😇
This is the most important way to deal with bitterness; allowing the sweet calm and soothing presence of the Holy Spirit comfort you. The fact that you want to overcome bitterness is a pointer to the proof that the Spirit of God dwells in you. You can start by asking Him to help you forgive wholeheartedly. Then make conscious and intentional confessions of forgiving the person, calling him/her by name. Say it over and over again. Debunk every thought of repaying the wrong and keep affirming your identity in Christ.
Listen, beloved, it's not a "one-day" event. It's going to take a process of time but it will be worth it.
*Bitterness though harbored towards a person, invariably affects every other person around. It creates an undesirable aura around the carrier.
Someone somewhere needs this, so I thought it wise to share...
